Kirby And The Forgotten Land: What Is There To Like

The majority of characters on Nintendo have already made the switch from 2D to 3D; in fact, characters like Mario, Donkey Kong, and link already mastered complete mobility during the N64 period.

However, Kirby, the pink puffball from Nintendo, has remained 2D for around 30 years. His most recent adventure however takes place in a 3D universe, so thankfully that record is about to end.

Forgotten Land has more of an emphasis on finding hidden collectibles than on providing sophisticated gameplay or difficult fighting. Thus, even though Kirby doesn't quite reach the same heights as Mario it is still a charming experience for older gamers and a perfect place to start for young kids.

What Is The Story?

Forgotten Land is almost the same as other Kirby games, which means they don't exactly have the most developed narratives. There isn't much conversation in this game; instead, Kirby's wonderfully absurd facial expressions and sweet chirps serve as suitable replacements.

The narrative begins with Kirby and Waddle Dee's bunch of his friends getting drawn into a vortex before being ejected into an alien environment. Here, the friends are taken captive, prompting Kirby to scour the island in search of his strange-looking buddies.

Later in the game, characters from the Kirby universe also appear, and there are some unexpectedly shocking twists near the end. It's all ridiculous, but it is very fun and includes enough action-packed scenes as well.

Additionally, the main environment, which gradually enlarges as more Waddle Dee are saved, can be explored if you need a break from the game. More activities will become available as a result, such as a fishing mini-game, a café mini-game, and a colosseum where you must defeat numerous waves of enemy bosses simultaneously to win a very valuable prize.

What Is The Gameplay?

With six separate worlds to explore, Kirby and the Forgotten Land follow a very well-known 3D gaming format. You begin in a post-apocalyptic metropolis that has now trees growing out of roadways and flowers covering the tops of skyscrapers. Later, you'll visit a theme park, a desert, and a tundra covered with snow.

It is interesting to see what each level design had to offer because there is such a wide diversity of level designs here.

Kirby can inflate himself and float above in case he accidentally mistimes a jump. Kirby is a very simple figure to play in comparison to Mario, whose tight acrobatics are difficult to master.

Destroying opponents is quite fun because Kirby can consume them and take their skills. There are 12 distinct copy abilities accessible, each with unique mechanics and applications. While Ice enables, you can glide and freeze the opponents and The Hammer enables Kirby to deliver significant damage up close.

Similar to the Yoshi series, Forgotten Land places a strong emphasis on finding trinkets. You must search for hidden doors and mini-puzzles across the stages.

Graphics Of The Game

When you play Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the graphics are just stunning. You could easily mistake this place for a children’s movie because of all the vibrant colors there. Children will undoubtedly find the HAL Laboratory's choice of vibrant cartoon imagery appealing. Each level has tons of detail and lovely backgrounds that are frequently mesmerizing to look at.

There is also a wide range of designs, from spherical villains with golden armor to blue rabbits with floppy ears. Kirby also has a superb selection of animations. Each level has been meticulously designed with extra details that will undoubtedly make you grin. Additionally, Forgotten Land has the same high standard of refinement as any other Nintendo game in a similar genre.

With its adorable characters, silly cutscenes, and vibrant level designs, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a charming journey that will give you a sugar rush.
